About Me
I am a researcher driven by curiosity to understand patterns in population health and the environment. My academic path spans Demography and Geography, and I am currently a PhD candidate at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, supported by the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) program.
Demography lets me trace the rhythms of population dynamics — births, migrations, and how people move through their lives. Geography adds the spatial dimension: where things happen, and why location matters. Together, they give me a framework for studying problems that do not respect disciplinary borders.
My PhD research focuses on the physical and mental health consequences of air pollution in India. Ambient and household pollution together impose a substantial but unevenly distributed burden — and that uneven distribution is what makes the problem analytically interesting. Every pattern I uncover in the data is a step toward policies that could actually change how people live.
Beyond my dissertation, I work on environmental health broadly — sanitation, WASH access, elder health, and nutrition inequality. I use tools like STATA, SPSS, R, and Python to extract meaning from large-scale survey data. The software argues with me sometimes. That is fine. The work matters.
